Boating and fishing have always been more than a profession for the Salvanos family – they are a way of life, rooted in Corfu's north-east coast for generations. Today, we continue that tradition with personal service and deep local knowledge.
A Life Shaped by the Sea
Filippos Salvanos grew up around boats, helping his father and uncle aboard the family caique from the age of five or six. Those early years gave him an intimate understanding of Corfu's coastline, weather and sea – knowledge that would shape his life's work.
In 1979, after completing his National Service, Filippos started his own company with two small motorboats, each fitted with a 3.5 horsepower engine. Filippos Boats became the first boat hire company in Corfu to receive a licence to rent boats – a milestone that marked the beginning of a family legacy.
Over the decades, the business grew, but the values stayed the same: personal service, local expertise, and a genuine love for the sea. Today, Filippos's children – Nicholas, Katie and Daniella – carry that legacy forward, each running their own sister companies along the coast while staying true to the family tradition.
Meet the Family
Nicholas & Daniella
Nicholas and Daniella continue the family's maritime tradition together. Nicholas brings years of hands-on experience, while Daniella adds strong organisational skills and a fresh perspective, keeping the family legacy alive across north-east Corfu.
Nicholas
Nicholas runs the Avlaki Beach operation, offering boat rentals and paddle boards from one of Corfu's most peaceful bays. With years of local knowledge, he guides every guest to hidden coves and ensures a safe, relaxed and unforgettable day on the water.
Katie
Katie operates from Agios Stefanos with a modern fleet. She helps every guest choose the perfect boat and recommends secluded beaches and swimming spots along the beautiful coastline.
